Faith-Based Toolkit
The American College of Sports Medicine and the American Medical Association launched Exercise is Medicine®, a program designed to encourage faith-based communities to incorporate physical activity and nutrition into their daily routine.
Exercise is Medicine® and Pima County Health Department is calling on all faith-based communities to support exercise and healthy nutrition in their congregation.
The guiding principles to this toolkit are as follows:
- Understand the value of having a health and wellness program
- Describe the benefits of regular exercise and healthy nutrition for prevention and treatment of chronic diseases
- Identify the causes and risks of being overweight
- Identify the recommended physical activity and nutrition guidelines
We encourage you to use the toolkit information to make an exercise and nutrition consultation.
